Man Maru International Martial Arts Association is a tradtional martial arts association founded by Dr. Jim Washington and Dr. Jim Grubb designed to promote and teach traditional martial arts techniques for modern day self defense. Man Maru is a three phase combative fighting system. When Man Maru is translated, it means, "full circle" or "returning to the origins" of Ju-Jitsu. Our goal is to bring the arts back to their original purpose - preservation of the individual. We do not stress tournament participation but many in Man Maru choose to compete. While we have many in our association who do compete in tournaments, our main objective is to teach the tried and true ancient ways for self defense and self preservation.

Currently, Man Maru International Martial Arts Association offers rank in Man Maru Ju-Jitsu, Shotokan Karate, Seiei-Kan Karate and Tai Chi.

Our prayer is that we all learn and teach to the best of our abilities but never have to use our God-given abilities in conflict.

"It is the mission of this federation to provide the highest quality of training and skills in all areas of martial arts, whether it be sport or traditional, and to provide practice in a safe, healthy and fun atmosphere. It is also our goal to assist individuals in developing a greater self discipline, self confidence, physical fitness and technical abilities to avoid, defend and or overcome challenging situations that occur in everyday life."
